Wouldn’t it be nice?

Author: Donna  |  Category: Family

It would go something like this:

Mom: Lainey, mama and dada aren’t feeling well…could you please sit quietly and play with your toys for a bit so we can rest?

Lainey: Yes, mama, rest as long as you need to!

Mom: Oh, thank you darling!

End of dream sequence…

Truthfully, toddlers don’t care if you’re sick. And, it’s been a rough couple of weeks around this household! It all started when we went home to NC. Marley, Ethan, and Abbey were all sick and had trips to the urgent care. The next week, Payton and I were under the weather. Last weekend, Randy joined in and had a whole weekend of feeling absolutely horrible. I decided for a second helping and have been sick this whole week. Ugh. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better today…maybe the plague is leaving??

I’m so glad that Lainey has avoided ALL of this so far, and pray that she stays well. And honestly, she’s been great. The other kids have been great helpers, playing with her when we couldn’t. She’s also started playing more with her toys lately and having fewer breakdowns, which has definitely made this week easier than it could have been. God in his wisdom also saw fit to make sure that Randy and I were NOT sick at the same time.

Here are a few pictures that we managed to take in between feeling cruddy…

Yep, she was.

We start homeschooling early around here.

Hey, I got it RIGHT!!

EJ trains her in unloading the dishwasher (after taking the sharp knives out, of course!)

    Donna –

You are typically so predictable with blogging and posting on the WCP Board that I just KNEW you were under the weather…it’s been too quiet from your neck of the woods! Sorry to hear everyone’s been down for the count.

Actually, since returning home with Carson in November, I’ve had two of the worst upper respiratory infections I’ve had in my entire life and one minor cold — Carson has barely sniffled. Something to be said for living in group conditions to build up a kid’s immunity, huh?

Glad you’re back among the living. Know that your presence (and pics of your awesome kids) were missed from Ohio!

Glad you are on the mend! We had our share of illness this past winter/spring too! I never get sick and I had the upper-resp. 4X!!! So, take care and it looks like the kids have it all under control!

Ok, I went to the Dr. this morning and was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection, too! Laryngitis, hacking cough, sneezing. I’m taking the Z-Pak and hopefully will feel better in a few days!! I love the photos of Abbey studying and Lainey joining her! Glad you guys feel better after 2 weeks of the “crud”! I’ll be glad when this pollen epidemic is over with around here..usually it gets better by May! Love, Mom

Glad to hear you are all doing better. It’s not fun being sick when you have lots of kids around!! I love the new pictures of Lainey and have enjoyed reading all your news. I’ve been following your blog but never signed up for a password until today. :-)

From one who has been sick for over 5 weeks… God bless you all. I didn’t have the flu, but this coughing/sinus infection has taken every bit of my strength and has kept me close to home. I hope to go to church tomorrow as I have missed 4 weeks. My saving grace is that I didn’t have children to take care of which I know makes it harder for you and Randy. Somehow God gave me the strength the weekend you all came here and I thank Him.

Love the pictures of Lainey “studying” and learning to do chores.

When are you all going to try her in the swimming pool? Also, did you ever fence off the back patio like you had planned? Just wondering…

The first picture says it all!!!!!

Sorry you’ve been sick. Spring colds are just miserable. Hope you’re on the road to recovery.

I think everyone in AMERICA has had this terrible, terrible… THING. I had it for 3 weeks and it came back after being well 2 weeks… Now, I am back to normal again. So sorry to hear you all got it, but like you said, God was good and didn’t let you and Randy get it at the same time! I love the picture of your daughters “doing homeschool”… VERY CUTE!
