it ain’t bathwater anymore…

Which is why my wimpy butt wasn’t in it. The lake, I mean.

But, these guys weren’t phased in the least by the 71 degree water temp.

The boys and their good friend, Ethan. He’s the son of my friend, Melinda.

Interesting story here: Years ago, when we first began our journey to Lainey, we joined an email group of other families adopting from China. One of those friends was Melinda, who at the time lived in Ohio. We moved to our small town near Charlotte 17 months ago – Melinda and her family moved to the SAME small town a few months ago. And, our boys are becoming fast friends. God is so good.

It’s a rule. When you ride our tube for the first time, you get thrown off – it’s sort of an initiation :)

Lainey has that “gee, this water is chilly” smile going on.

The boys decided to try and jump tubes while riding.

Almost every boating day turns ends with Ethan wakeboarding.

I was the only “sane” person who stayed dry on the boat. The water will still be there next summer.

Who would have ever guessed that your friend, Melinda, who used to live in Ohio…would have moved to NC, much less in your hometown?!!! It’s amazing. So glad that boys are becoming such good friends!!

Your dad and I would have definitely been joining you on that dry warm boat…not in 71 degree water and it’s October!! Looks like Lainey was just about ready for a big dry beach towel!!! I got chills just looking at her standing there soaking wet!!

I assume the boating season is just about coming to a close?? But, then, remember when the boys jumped in the lake this past winter in 30 some degrees?!!! BRRRRRRR!! Evidently they didn’t inherit their Granma’s cold nature!! This time of year I prefer a jacket/hoodie!!! Good bye to summer…hello pretty colorful autumn!!!
