And, for my next trick

Dylan has been in his spica cast for 17 days now.  He’s scheduled for removal in 9!  So, how’s he doing…

He’s showing no signs of pain anymore…woo hoo!  He sleeps well, and began sleeping on a pallet on the floor beside our bed a week ago.  Little by little, we’ll get him to HIS bed.  Four days ago, he decided he’d had enough of being in one spot and got mobile.  His casted leg either drags behind or he scoots on his bottom with the cast in front.  It works.  Oh, and last night he got very adventurous and climbed ALL the way up the stairs when we weren’t looking.  Oops.  Maybe we got used to him being in front of us!  He also discovered he can “stand” on his leg and casted leg.  It looks like he’s surfing!

We’re thrilled to pieces that he’s over the hardest part of this cast and now we’re all counting down the days until it’s OFF.  I can’t wait to get him in the bathtub!

Great pictures Donna! I am amazed at how well he is doing so quickly. Older folks would be out of it for months … but Dylan is up and at it in days! He sure is a handsome little guy!!!

I was amazed at how well he did here on Saturday. There was no stopping him. I loved how he sat in Randy’s lap watching as each name was called for one of the kids to open up their gifts. Then when his name was called, he knew exactly what to do. His bag was huge and at times he was IN the bag with only his legs showing. He got around the house great. I am glad that you are getting him closer and closer to when he will use his own bed. That is showing his trust in you all is just getting better every day.

Well, you know the old saying, “When Momma is happy, everyone is happy”. I can’t imagine how much better your life is now, since his fall. You can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel…!

How sweet that he’s sitting on Payton’s leg…Pate is so good with the littles…he’ll make a great dad one day!! How refreshing to see that beautiful smile on D-Man’s face! He’ll get his cast off in between our anniversary and my birthday…3 days of celebrating!! Can’t beat it!
