New freedoms…are we ready for this??

Tomorrow morning at 7am, Abbey will board a bus and ride for almost 3 hours on her first, official Jr. High field trip with our church. They are going to a Disney water park, Blizzard Beach. She is very excited! Her Mom and Dad; however, have mixed feelings! We’re so glad that our wonderful church has such cool things for Jr. Highers (6th-8th graders) to do. I guess the nervousness comes from having her SO far away and responsible for things she’s not used to dealing with (sunscreen, handling her money, etc.). It will be so good for her, though! Not to mention, she’ll have a blast. They’ll be back to the church that night at 9pm. It’ll be a great day for our Abbey-girl.

    Try not to worry too much, mom. I’m sure she’ll do fine….she’s been taught well! (easy for me to say….I’m not there just yet….I’ll be a quivering blob of mess when that time comes for me…..:-))

    How did she do? I’m with you…I don’t think I will be ready for this when it happens either. I guess all we can do is teach them well and PRAY!

    Wow !! Thanks for the info and add my prayers to the people that will be praying for a safe and fun trip for Abbey. This is one of many “steps” she will take as she becomes the young lady that God will have her be one day. I know it is hard on you and Randy to let her go “far” away from you, but Abbey is very responsible and will probably end up taking care of the others that are going. We just have to trust in God to send His angels along on the trip. Just remember the verse that I have leaned on as I watched Randy and Tony grow up, “The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever.” Psalms 121:8

    I was glad to read (on the Ladybug Board) that your daughter did well. I can’t imagine the emotions that we’ll feel when our girls are growing up and gaining new freedoms. I’ll use wonderful moms like you as an example!

    We’re glad to hear that Abbey did well and actually enjoyed the trip! By the looks of that picture, it looks like fun, and this is coming from a granma who is not too thrilled over a roller coaster!!! Hopefully she can go again and show her siblings all the cool stuff there! I love the name, “Blizzard Beach”! Love, Mom
