Here you see 3 young men, smiles on their faces, ready for a quick dip in the lake.Â
The lake we’re referring to is currently 45.5 degrees. Air temp? 33 degrees. Makes you wonder why they’re smiling, eh?Â
The boys had a friend over today who thought it would be cool (ahem) to jump into the lake…just for the fun of it. The boys lost all their mental faculties and said yes. No shot of the actual jump…they jumped quickly so no one would chicken out.Â
Here they are, running as fast as their little frozen legs will carry them up to the shower in the basement. Three guys in swim trunks, standing together in the shower, trying to convince their hearts to start beating again.Â
We took video of the whole thing, and if I knew how to post it, I’d share. Maybe Randy can show me how? Anyway, the guys were extremely proud of their little adventure today…maybe they’ll do it again on Monday, when we’re expected to get snow? Or, maybe snow angels in their swim trunks? We’ll see.

I’m not sure if they can officially become part of the “Polar Bear Club” until they jump in water below the freezing mark. Good ‘warm-up’ exercise, though. ha ha ha

I automatically figured it was Payton’s idea, but see that I was wrong. I am surprised that Randy wasn’t doing this with them. They had to be freezing running back to the house. When I get in our hot tub in the winter, I’m okay until I have to get out and back into the house. I do that rather quickly ! Was Ethan the only one “smart” (I use this term loosely) enough to take a towel with him??

Oooooh nooooo!!! As I sit here typing, I feel like I’m shivering for them!! And it’s been so cold lately…snow on the way…have they completely “lost it”??!!! You probably didn’t have enough blankets last night for them so get warm!! Yeah, I just would have HAD to take a towel…at least that’s “something” to throw over you as you run, skip and jump back to the house!! Snow angels in bathing trunks??? We’ll see…not a great idea, but then, they’re young…they’ll “get over it”!!! LOL!!

Hahaha!!! That is SO funny! Just today David dared Daniel (8 yo) to roll in the snow for 30 seconds with only his swim trunks on…all for $5…and YES, HE DID IT! These boys! They are a crazy breed!
