Buckle Up

We’re speeding through the last few days!

Going out for my birthday. We went downtown where, on each Friday in December, they open all the stores, have cider and cookies, lights up everywhere, Santa, and a favorite restaurant of mine.

Okay, I’m fuzzy on what day this was. We saw the snow starting to come down and headed outside to enjoy it – since we knew it wouldn’t last.

We heard that the kids saw snow when we were in China, but they said this was a LOT more. And, the flakes were huge!

Dylan approved :)

That night, we headed to a Christmas tree lot to find the perfect tree.

Checking out the freshness factor. Everytime Dylan has a new experience, I wonder what’s going on in his little head.

The winner!

Super Dad!

Lots of table crafts and activities lately. Dylan loves being in his chair and will sit a long time working on something. Here, he’s sticking cut-outs of stickyback foam pieces to paper.

It was big sisters idea.

This was actually on my birthday, I think. He’s enjoying his first lollipop from the pediatrician.

We made it through the first week home. I’m so glad to be back in our (new) routine and looking forward to Christmas (which we’re still feverishly trying to get ready for – I’m one of those ladies with the overflowing carts at Target days before Christmas). Am I missing anything from China? Room service, maid service, the water pressure at the White Swan (gracious!), doormen who are always happy to open the door for you, and friends that we met. Oh, and….

Okay, okay. I’ll stop talking about the french toast, already. Sheesh…

You just made my day/night. I was going to get off computer, but just decided to check “one more time” to see if you had put any new pictures. I LOVE THEM ! The picture of you with the 6 kids is great.

The snow looks beautiful and I know the kids had fun in it. I am like you in wondering “what” is going on in Dylan’s mind with every new experience. He just looks like he has “belonged” to you all forever !

Lainey is being a good big sister to Dylan and I can see them becoming best of friends. Finally, she has someone her size to play with. LOL

Yes, Randy does play the part of “Super Dad” very nicely, but then you are “Super Mom” too. It’s a good thing Randy is a big man as he has his hands full holding Lainey and Dylan.

The Monday Dee Dee and I went shopping I filled up (overflowing) one cart and then filled up the cart she was pushing. So I had two major carts full of Christmas gifts for all of you. Can you imagine just how much 2 carts (full) at Targets costs?? Oh well, I guess you all are worth it.

I know how busy you are, but am loving the updates and I can’t wait to see all of you soon !!

Love the fam pic at the beginning of the blog… I smiled when I noticed Abbey posing with her hand on the hip. Glamour girl! She is growing up so fast– and well of course she has surpassed you D. I still remember at times being at your home several years ago when the Trips were in preschool and you were in the early years of home schooling Abbey. You have a beautiful family D– so happy that Lainey and Dyland were divinely planned to join– many blessings to all of you this Christmas.

Gotta GOTTA have a print of the top picture of you & the kids…it’s just sooo good!! The kids are right…we had some snow while you were gone, but NOT that much…wow, what snowflakes! I had to laugh when, over the phone you told us that it was snowing “pancakes”!!!

So, how did it go this year (tree-hunting)?? I remember when we were with you guys at Thanksgiving in Florida…I recall the trips and Abbey didn’t quite agree on the same tree?! Glad they found a winner! What a great time for Dylan to join the family…just in time for decorating the tree, getting gifts, ETC. (Not to mention your birthday!!! =) Gotta go…your dad is “hinting” (HA) that it’s time for supper! Love ya!! See you all soon!!
