src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2134\/3531696734_fb125a12d7.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lainey Jett<\/p>\n<p>So much going on these days, with the kids finishing up their subjects before the coveted summer break and my mind on all the amazing projects and things I&#8217;ll get done once I&#8217;m done teaching.\u00c2\u00a0 Who am I kidding&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 So, here are a few quick snapshots of things going on in our household at the moment:\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The above shot makes me think of American Idol, and how crushed we were to see Danny leave.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be nice and not say how much I LOATHE Adam (oops).\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6299\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3530883349\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3312\/3530883349_8fccbe215d.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have a couple of friends who are deathly afraid of amphibians, namely frogs (waving to Amanda)&#8230;it would be tough to have that fear here in Florida.\u00c2\u00a0 The sounds of countless frogs and\/or toads croaking in and around the pond in our backyard is almost deafening this time of year.\u00c2\u00a0 This\u00c2\u00a0green tree frog\u00c2\u00a0visited us this week.\u00c2\u00a0 I grabbed the camera and aimed and he promptly turned his back to me.\u00c2\u00a0 I changed position.\u00c2\u00a0 He turned away again.\u00c2\u00a0 It became quite comical and took a few shots to actually get the little guy&#8217;s face.\u00c2\u00a0 I think he might be in the witness protection program.\u00c2\u00a0 Good disquise.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6313\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3530955553\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2415\/3530955553_88694026e1.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6313\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m talking animals, here is a pic of Marley &#8220;tending&#8221; her brood of water beetles, assorted land beetles, and her bin of tadpoles.\u00c2\u00a0 This is a busy season for our animal lover.\u00c2\u00a0 Lainey is watching intently, learning the ropes from big sis.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6306\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3531769756\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2173\/3531769756_4f227377cc.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6306\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know you&#8217;re busy, but could someone pullleeaase feed me?<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6302\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3531769878\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2303\/3531769878_50eefdc07a.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6302\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is Payton&#8217;s reaction to hearing he has to have teeth pulled in June.\u00c2\u00a0 Initially it was SEVEN baby teeth.\u00c2\u00a0 But, he&#8217;s lost two on his own.\u00c2\u00a0 Still, five??\u00c2\u00a0 And, the boy is missing 4 adult teeth to begin with!\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;ll be double-checking that the orthodontist and the dentist are on the same page on which ones to pull!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6312\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3530955583\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3607\/3530955583_728c657bbf.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6312\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spring brings plantings around here&#8230;lining the window on our patio are seedlings of flowers that the girls planted.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll have to ask them what they are, I forget!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6305\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3530955817\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2404\/3530955817_b0aef3529a.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6305\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Update on pumpkin&#8230;still growing strong and flowering like crazy.\u00c2\u00a0 Not seeing any baby pumpkins yet.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6317\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3531769428\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3307\/3531769428_9a47476928.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6317\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cucumbers in the planter and tomatoes in the background.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s been a long time since I&#8217;ve tried cucumbers, I&#8217;ve never been very successful with those.\u00c2\u00a0 Last year, I tried those hang-upside-down planters for the tomatoes.\u00c2\u00a0 They ended up with some weird growth on them and did nothing.\u00c2\u00a0 Went back to right-side-up this year and so far so good.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6318\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3531153075\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2177\/3531153075_7cf05e7f89.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6318\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This has been our favorite snack lately to make&#8230;won tons with cinnamon sugar.\u00c2\u00a0 We cut, sprinkle, and bake until they get crispy.\u00c2\u00a0 They&#8217;re easy and really good.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6304\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3530955855\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2097\/3530955855_d81dc6800e.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6304\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ethan has his first piano recital tomorrow night.\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;s been practicing the song for a while and has it down pat.\u00c2\u00a0 I forget the title, but it&#8217;s by Johann Strauss.\u00c2\u00a0 Lasts about 30 seconds :)\u00c2\u00a0 Course, we&#8217;ll still be sitting through the other 30+ kids to play.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6308\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3531769636\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3340\/3531769636_4561c5e05f.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He tells me this is B minor.\u00c2\u00a0 EJ has been playing the guitar A LOT lately, it&#8217;s nearly always around his neck.\u00c2\u00a0 He loves to find songs online to copy and he&#8217;s beginning to make up songs on his own.\u00c2\u00a0 The kids used to complain a wee bit (okay, maybe more) that he played\u00c2\u00a0too much.\u00c2\u00a0 Now, they all comment on how good he sounds.\u00c2\u00a0 He really does.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6309\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3531769588\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3344\/3531769588_73e3b8397d.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6309\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Resident teenager.\u00c2\u00a0 You can find her in her room or on Facebook.\u00c2\u00a0 Or taking a really long shower.\u00c2\u00a0 Or in your face asking to have friends over.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s my &#8220;baby&#8221; who is taller than me, wears larger shoes than me, and shares clothes with me.\u00c2\u00a0 Fun.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image alignnone\" title=\"DSC_6314\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/3530955515\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2075\/3530955515_d6e882ed79.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6314\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lainey loves to swing.\u00c2\u00a0 The higher the better.\u00c2\u00a0 What else is new&#8230;She signs 3-4 signs at a time now, in sentences.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;momma stay home&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;Lainey swing blue swing&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;pink cup water&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 Speech is showing progress, too.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s using &#8220;w&#8221; more appropriately, &#8220;y&#8221; and &#8220;l&#8221; are pretty close, and I&#8217;ve finally gotten her to more closely approximate &#8220;n&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 So, &#8220;no&#8221; is &#8220;mo&#8221;, but we&#8217;re working on it.\u00c2\u00a0 She can say &#8220;yo-yo&#8221; and calls her flip flops her &#8220;ma ma&#8221; (says it like &#8220;mop&#8221; without the &#8220;p&#8221; sound).\u00c2\u00a0 She copies EVERYTHING we say, but usually just says the vowel sounds &#8211; momma stay home is &#8220;mama ay om&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s facinated with colors matching,\u00c2\u00a0loves choosing her own clothes (with mom&#8217;s guidance), and still dislikes mushrooms.\u00c2\u00a0 Actually, we&#8217;ve noticed\u00c2\u00a0she isn&#8217;t much of a bread lover of any kind&#8230;usually has to be\u00c2\u00a0urged to finish a sandwich.\u00c2\u00a0 Being a grains lover myself, I do NOT understand that.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, EJ&#8217;s team plays for the championship on Saturday!\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll have pictures, I&#8217;m sure.\u00c2\u00a0
