{"id":362,"date":"2008-11-21T16:51:09","date_gmt":"2008-11-21T20:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=362"},"modified":"2008-11-21T16:55:07","modified_gmt":"2008-11-21T20:55:07","slug":"true-love-waits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/362","title":{"rendered":"True Love Waits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: top;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3136\/3046277353_6a5b03474e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"413\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Abbey cutting the celebration cake, with Deni smiling behind.<\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday, Abbey participated in a very special evening with her Real Life Group at church.\u00c2\u00a0 Let me back up&#8230;her group is made up of all 7th grade girls, and they&#8217;ve been meeting weekly since the beginning of 6th grade, with\u00c2\u00a0Mrs. Deni (as they call her) as their leader.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Recently their topic of discussions has centered around the concept\u00c2\u00a0of &#8220;True Love Waits&#8221;&#8230;going against the mainstream attitudes toward physical relationships and instead encouraging moral purity and abstinance until marriage.\u00c2\u00a0 Deni felt led to arrange for a beautiful night, where the girls took group and individual pledges.\u00c2\u00a0 She also led us all in\u00c2\u00a0a lesson on what it means to have a real, God designed love story.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3187\/3046277125_218abb237e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"287\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Abbey, repeating the pledge to us.\u00c2\u00a0 We also had something to repeat to her, pledging to help her as she follows God&#8217;s plan for her life.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3285\/3046277101_909253414f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"349\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Randy puts the silver locket around her neck.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a\u00c2\u00a0small silver box that opens.\u00c2\u00a0 We typed up 2nd Timothy 2:22 and rolled it up inside. \u00c2\u00a0We gave her the option of\u00c2\u00a0a ring or necklace, and she chose necklace&#8230;but we surprised her with what it looked like.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3135\/3046277323_7fa73e9d9b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Deni and her girls&#8230;she&#8217;ll have them all together for one more year, 8th grade.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thank you, Deni, for taking the time and effort to put this together.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s obvious that you love our girls, and desire only God&#8217;s best for them.\u00c2\u00a0 Thank you for the example that you are to our daughter.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abbey cutting the celebration cake, with Deni smiling behind.
