{"id":361,"date":"2008-11-18T23:24:05","date_gmt":"2008-11-19T03:24:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=361"},"modified":"2008-11-19T00:03:36","modified_gmt":"2008-11-19T04:03:36","slug":"9-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/361","title":{"rendered":"9 Months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: top;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3245\/3042734152_3c81c02bc5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yet another month has gone by with Lainey Q!\u00c2\u00a0 She was in the orphanage for the first 19 months of her life, so we&#8217;ve almost had her half that time.\u00c2\u00a0 Experts say that children need to be with their family at least as long as they were in the orphanage, to start feeling like &#8220;this is it&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3160\/3041891225_79ff94e90d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Marley shares her ice cream with her lil&#8217; sister.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00c2\u00a0don&#8217;t think I remembered to mention before, but something amazing has happened between her 8th and 9th month with us.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s finally full.\u00c2\u00a0 Remember how she used to\u00c2\u00a0eat like mad,\u00c2\u00a0always cleaning her plate?\u00c2\u00a0 That has stopped being so consistent recently.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0She eats much slower, plays more, and seems more picky about what she wants to eat.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Don&#8217;t get me wrong, she&#8217;s still an awesome eater&#8230;she&#8217;s just eating more like a\u00c2\u00a0&#8220;normal&#8221; toddler now. :)\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3150\/3042734262_d343f52162.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Patiently waiting by my computer&#8230;wheels on the bus, please??<\/p>\n<p>Lainey has her last visit at the infectious disease clinic tomorrow!\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s almost done with\u00c2\u00a0her INH therapy medicine that started back in March.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0She&#8217;s on this due to testing positive for TB\u00c2\u00a0at her initial pediatrician visit.\u00c2\u00a0 She had a chest x-ray, which came back clear&#8230;but,\u00c2\u00a0it&#8217;s customary to still be put on the medicine for the whole 9 months.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s tolerated it perfectly, absolutely no side effects at all.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Her last dose is mid December.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I\u00c2\u00a0haven&#8217;t weighed her in a little while, but she&#8217;s HEAVY when I carry her upstairs.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s still making slow and steady progress in the speech\/communication department and doing well with the potty&#8230; though, she&#8217;s still not TELLING me she has to go so that&#8217;s the big hurdle to get over!\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe by her 10th month?\u00c2\u00a0 I can hope!<\/p>\n<p>One last thing&#8230;Lainey&#8217;s story is on a new website started by Stephanie (the link to her personal blog, Ni Hao Ya&#8217;ll, is on the sidebar).\u00c2\u00a0 She had a desire to have a website dedicated solely to helping educate others about special needs through personal stories of others adoption experiences.\u00c2\u00a0 I think it&#8217;s an awesome idea, and wish it would have been in place while we were in the researching stage of our SN adoption.\u00c2\u00a0 There&#8217;s nothing like learning the &#8220;real deal&#8221;
