{"id":339,"date":"2008-09-26T21:21:39","date_gmt":"2008-09-27T01:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=339"},"modified":"2008-09-26T21:24:14","modified_gmt":"2008-09-27T01:24:14","slug":"lots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/339","title":{"rendered":"Lots&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;going on.\u00c2\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s on my mind&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3191\/2890714068_66f5cbc48c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>E&#8217;s first game, which I saw most of &#8211; had to leave to take Abbey to softball practice.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My hat is off to all the single parents out there&#8230;whether you&#8217;re full-time, at home while your spouse is serving our country, etc.\u00c2\u00a0 Randy has been traveling a lot this last week and I&#8217;m SPENT.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard work, people, not to mention a little lonely.\u00c2\u00a0 Praying an extra prayer for those who hold down the fort on their own.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I had the pleasure of calling the Poison Control hotline for the first time today.\u00c2\u00a0 Yep, I had a great track record going until child #5.\u00c2\u00a0 I had an empty nail polish remover bottle on the kitchen counter, ready to put in the recycle bin.\u00c2\u00a0 I should have considered that &#8220;Miss Grabby Hands&#8221; (as she&#8217;s affectionately known around here) would get to it.\u00c2\u00a0 I look over right as she tips it up into her mouth.\u00c2\u00a0 Ahh!\u00c2\u00a0 I knew there was only a drop or two in there, but smelling her breath told me she definitely got some.\u00c2\u00a0 Funny thing, she didn&#8217;t even make a face.\u00c2\u00a0 Yet another reason to believe that she does NOT have taste buds.\u00c2\u00a0 The gal at PC was very nice, listened to what happened, and told me she might have a tummy ache (nah), to offer her fluids (I did), and that she&#8217;d be fine (she is).\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3282\/2889878367_e2dae93b35.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here she is, eating something she SHOULD eat.\u00c2\u00a0 A muffin that Marley helped make in her cooking class.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Lainey, she&#8217;s doing really well with her speech therapy.\u00c2\u00a0 We have a new therapist which we LOVE, and Lainey does great for.\u00c2\u00a0 In her words, the therapist is &#8220;stoked&#8221; at how much potential she shows already (only 3 sessions into it).\u00c2\u00a0 We both agreed that Lainey Q is just soaking everything up and readily copying, imitating, singing, signing, etc.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s just a bundle of learning, and it&#8217;s so fun to watch.\u00c2\u00a0 Her latest things are &#8220;counting&#8221; to 5 &#8211; we count with our fingers &#8220;one&#8230;two&#8230;three&#8230;&#8221; and she copies perfectly and tries to imitate the numbers (three is &#8220;eee&#8221;).\u00c2\u00a0 She LOVES itsy-bitsy spider and wheels on the bus, discovered her\u00c2\u00a0shadow for the first time this past weekend, and almost has drinking from a straw figured out!\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s amazing to watch her experience these things.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ethan had his first baseball game this past Tuesday&#8230;they won, but EJ did well just to be there.\u00c2\u00a0 His asthma has really been kicking up this last week, and we weren&#8217;t sure all day if he&#8217;d be well enough to make it to the late afternoon game.\u00c2\u00a0 He had a couple of breathing treatments, cough medicine, and his inhaler in his baseball bag and we decided he felt well enough to try.\u00c2\u00a0 He made it through fine, never needing his inhaler (I was amazed).\u00c2\u00a0 He told me he had prayed about it several times, and we talked about how God had indeed allowed him to play.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3177\/2890714162_4beba63e33.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Payton and Lainey team up to clean!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The title for this post is perfect for how I&#8217;ve felt lately&#8230;there is just too much to do, too many places to be, too many errands to run, too many items on my &#8220;to do&#8221; list.\u00c2\u00a0 Sometimes I dream of being Amish, with just a couple of outfits, a few books, candles, and everyone has their own ONE plate, cup, bowl, and fork.\u00c2\u00a0 Then, I come back to my senses.\u00c2\u00a0 But, for me, clutter of any kind really drives me nuts and the clutter I&#8217;m feeling in my brain isn&#8217;t any different than a full kitchen counter.\u00c2\u00a0 I know the answer is to purge, simplify, cut back and I honestly try.\u00c2\u00a0 I want to do the things that &#8220;matter&#8221;, the things that will be memories for my kids to look back on and smile when they&#8217;re my age.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m praying that God will guide me in this area specifically&#8230;feel free to join in ;)\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;going on.\u00c2\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s on my mind&#8230;
