{"id":328,"date":"2008-09-02T22:59:40","date_gmt":"2008-09-03T02:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=328"},"modified":"2008-09-02T23:07:00","modified_gmt":"2008-09-03T03:07:00","slug":"nothing-could-be-finer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/328","title":{"rendered":"Nothing could be finer&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: top;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3243\/2823726580_5dc7fee61a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;than to be in Carolina.\u00c2\u00a0 Cousin&#8217;s Day came around once again, and this one was Lainey&#8217;s first.\u00c2\u00a0 She did a lot better on this long trip than the last one in April, thankfully!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3144\/2822892427_c57d324896.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nana arranged for a photographer to come this year, and that lady&#8217;s camera was smoking (literally&#8230;it actually overheated at one point).\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3034\/2823726094_4938d7290b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Randy took this one of the group shot&#8230;hopefully the photographer was a little more lucky.\u00c2\u00a0 Tough to get this many people looking at the same time!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3125\/2822892345_ab47e1e902.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Love this shot of Nana<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3201\/2822892223_ac30390e59.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yes, it was THAT hot.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3119\/2822892279_e625d3097b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Abbey says hello!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3247\/2823726490_3dc5c7e093.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lainey took an immediate liking to Nana and Paw Paw&#8217;s dog, Casey.\u00c2\u00a0 Could she stick that hip out any farther?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3009\/2822892059_bf03c08727.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With pictures and devotion time done, Nana knew just how to make the kiddos happy&#8230;water slide!\u00c2\u00a0 We got Lainey changed and took her to the slide.\u00c2\u00a0 We told her goodbye and that mama and dada would be back.\u00c2\u00a0 She was so distracted by the fun, that she didn&#8217;t fuss at all.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re told that she did great all day, playing, napping, eating, running around, chasing the dog, eating, etc.\u00c2\u00a0 She slept all night, even through the crazy thunderstorm that night.\u00c2\u00a0 We were relieved, though I&#8217;m not sure why we were ever worried&#8230;.Lainey always surprises us by handling everything well.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The rest of our weekend was full of seeing people.\u00c2\u00a0 On Friday, we took the kids to my mom&#8217;s &#8220;office&#8221; (she works at a daycare) for a visit.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be adding some pics of that on a later post.\u00c2\u00a0 After that, we picked up lunch and took it to my grandmom&#8217;s house.\u00c2\u00a0 My aunt Gail and cousin Michael joined us and we had a great time, catching up and laughing at Lainey as she wore grandmom&#8217;s glasses, shouldered her purse, and held onto her cane.\u00c2\u00a0 I have no pics of this, unfortunately&#8230;forgot the camera.\u00c2\u00a0 I know, I&#8217;m still mad at myself.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lainey was then treated to an eye exam by her own Uncle Tony.\u00c2\u00a0 He told us that she has a little bit of a prescription, but nothing that needs attention right now.\u00c2\u00a0 He also confirmed what we suspected&#8230;her left eye occasionally (about 1\/4 of the time) turns inward.\u00c2\u00a0 Again, he said there&#8217;s no need for treatment right now, given how intermittently it occurs.\u00c2\u00a0 It could go away on it&#8217;s own.\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;ll check her again in a year.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Skip ahead to Saturday night (when the kids were at Cousin&#8217;s Day), and we had our annual triple date with Tony and Dee Dee (R&#8217;s brother and sis-in-law) and John and Kim (R&#8217;s step-sister and bro-in-law).\u00c2\u00a0 Beautiful restaurant, great food, and not a kid&#8217;s menu in sight.\u00c2\u00a0 Ahhh&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Church and then a very lazy Sunday afternoon with Randy&#8217;s mom Ann visiting us at Tony and Dee Dee&#8217;s house.\u00c2\u00a0 Then, it was time to get on the road.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3057\/2822891663_5f0d12c2a7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lainey and her favorite optometrist, uncle Tony<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3161\/2823725746_69a8e405c4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kissing cousins, Samara and Lainey<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3051\/2822891915_3a06ee48de.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All of Lainey&#8217;s cousins enjoyed getting to know her better (the little ones high-fived her all weekend!), but Caleb took a special interest in her.\u00c2\u00a0 Once he found out that Lainey would eat anything, he set out to find something that she would refuse.\u00c2\u00a0 He never found it, but not for lack of trying.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3011\/2822891747_58b53ffd6a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The NC family and the FL family&#8230;all 15 of us.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3015\/2823725462_aeea298d06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We stopped by my mom and dad&#8217;s house on our way home&#8230;she wanted a new picture to add to her &#8220;grandmom&#8221;
