{"id":309,"date":"2008-07-05T22:06:13","date_gmt":"2008-07-06T02:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=309"},"modified":"2008-07-14T10:50:09","modified_gmt":"2008-07-14T14:50:09","slug":"and-then-she-was-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/309","title":{"rendered":"And then she was two&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: top;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3258\/2640068281_a7ac3e530e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lainey, on the morning of her 2nd birthday, July 4, 2008.\u00c2\u00a0 She was greeted by very smiley parents and the flash of a camera.\u00c2\u00a0 She has momma and baby tiger both tucked safely under each arm.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3058\/2640895682_25a47f0739.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She was then whisked to the breakfast table for cinnamon muffins and blueberry cream oatmeal.\u00c2\u00a0 She loves using her own spoon to feed herself now&#8230;we delayed teaching her that prior to surgery, knowing it would only make it more frustrating for her when she couldn&#8217;t feed herself.\u00c2\u00a0 Clean up is a little more of a challenge, but our dog Jack is happy to help out if I miss something on the floor.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3073\/2640068451_96614a3802.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Every birthday girl has to look her best for cake and presents, so we gave her a relaxing bath.\u00c2\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry, pouring water over her head is her favorite part of the bath&#8230;she asks for &#8220;mo&#8221; (more!) over and over.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3071\/2640068585_2e49c0106f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dressed and hair-bowed, she was ready for some presents!\u00c2\u00a0 Here&#8217;s something I bet you&#8217;ve never heard of&#8230;a two year old who is compelled to throw away, in the trash can, every single piece of paper that she pulls off the present.\u00c2\u00a0 We ended up bringing a trashcan in the room, to speed things up!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3272\/2640895928_65fe52104d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lainey do you like your new cozy coupe car?\u00c2\u00a0 I think she does.\u00c2\u00a0 We also got her a tricycle with a handle that we can turn to help her steer (great find at a consignment shop, actually!), a toddler computer toy, a Lainey-sized patio chair, and a shape sorter.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3130\/2640896052_3486582d1e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She tried very hard to blow out her candles, but she just hasn&#8217;t mastered blowing through her mouth yet.\u00c2\u00a0 She either ends up blowing through her nose or sputtering through her mouth.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;ll get it eventually, until then big sister Abbey helped her blow them out.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: bottom;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3113\/2640068889_d431fb3b44.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She began tasting her cake, very daintily.\u00c2\u00a0 You can&#8217;t see it, but her bib is embroidered with &#8220;Lainey&#8221;
