That project I mentioned in my last post?<\/p>\n

Guess what…we did it! \u00c2\u00a0And, in two days no less.<\/p>\n

This doesn’t happen around here. \u00c2\u00a0Starting and finishing a project in only TWO days? \u00c2\u00a0Unheard of.<\/p>\n

But, we had a deadline. \u00c2\u00a0Randy left today to go to NY for a few days for work. \u00c2\u00a0If we’d not finished before he left, we would have been without a guest bathroom. \u00c2\u00a0Not the end of the world, but it did give us the motivation to just.get.it.done.<\/p>\n

Here’s a before…<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

This was actually taken before we bought the house, when Randy was taking pics of each of the rooms to show me.<\/p>\n

It’s hard to tell, but the wall color (as are ALL of the walls in this house, other than the ones we’ve already painted) is a decent khaki color. \u00c2\u00a0But, the paint is FLAT. \u00c2\u00a0No sheen whatsoever, and it’s impossible to clean. \u00c2\u00a0To say I’d like to re-paint the whole house is a total understatement. \u00c2\u00a0But, most of our walls are angled, and the open doorways are curved…so if you start painting one wall, it melds into the next one. \u00c2\u00a0There’s no “well, we’ll JUST paint the family room”.<\/p>\n

Painting the whole house is gonna have to wait.<\/p>\n

But, there are a few rooms that aren’t affected by the curves and angles…like the guest bath.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

This was taken yesterday, after Randy took the back off of the toilet. \u00c2\u00a0That was a job. \u00c2\u00a0But, it made painting the wall behind it much easier.<\/p>\n

We already had the paint (toasted honey), and decided to replace the light fixture and mirror while we were at it. \u00c2\u00a0They were never my style, a little too traditional. \u00c2\u00a0If I had the moolah, I’d make major changes to turn this house into a homey, farmhouse. \u00c2\u00a0For now, I’m doing it in small batches.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

We found the mirror at a local furniture consignment store. \u00c2\u00a0Love the simplicity, and how it’s squared at the bottom and curved at the top. \u00c2\u00a0The light fixture finally matches the existing brushed nickel fixtures. \u00c2\u00a0I like the shape of the globes, kinda old fashioned.<\/p>\n

I did some “shopping” around my house, and accessorized to match the new color scheme. \u00c2\u00a0I love it. \u00c2\u00a0Might replace the rug at some point.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

I’m wondering which room is next. \u00c2\u00a0Bedroom maybe? \u00c2\u00a0Hopefully, my husband didn’t read that.<\/p>\n
