{"id":2741,"date":"2013-09-15T21:56:47","date_gmt":"2013-09-16T01:56:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=2741"},"modified":"2013-09-15T21:56:47","modified_gmt":"2013-09-16T01:56:47","slug":"no-pictures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2741","title":{"rendered":"No pictures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gasp.<\/p>\n<p>No pictures in this one. \u00c2\u00a0Just wanted to jump on the blog and say hello.<\/p>\n<p>Hello! \u00c2\u00a0(waving)<\/p>\n<p>And add a few of my thoughts&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>First, I&#8217;m sorry you&#8217;re having to look at the SAME picture on the banner portion of the blog. \u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s been that same picture for over three years. \u00c2\u00a0Dylan doesn&#8217;t even have his first leg, for pity sake, and he&#8217;s on his third! \u00c2\u00a0But, WordPress doesn&#8217;t make it so easy to switch stuff like pics and fonts, which is a pain. \u00c2\u00a0Our friend, Alan has been working to make this easier, and Randy promises me he&#8217;ll sit down with me to try and get a new pic up there. \u00c2\u00a0I have hope&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>If you read the last post, you got woozy watching Randy teetering on the top of our ladder. \u00c2\u00a0You&#8217;ll be happy to know that he now has a 25&#8242; extension ladder. \u00c2\u00a0Problem solved. \u00c2\u00a0As well as freshly replaced outside floodlights.<\/p>\n<p>Guess what we have? \u00c2\u00a0A bit of an infestation of fruit flies. \u00c2\u00a0Eeek. \u00c2\u00a0We thought we just had gnats at first, and wondered why so many were in our kitchen. \u00c2\u00a0We now have several homemade traps filled with apple cider vinegar, topped with paper funnels. \u00c2\u00a0Flies get in, can&#8217;t get out. \u00c2\u00a0Hoping this takes care of it. \u00c2\u00a0Any other ideas?<\/p>\n<p>Randy took care of one of those pesky &#8220;list&#8221; things this weekend. \u00c2\u00a0We&#8217;ve had a spot in our backyard that was constantly wet, no matter what the weather. \u00c2\u00a0We were concerned that maybe a pipe leading to the garden sprinklers had busted or something. \u00c2\u00a0Turns out, the previous owner was just a dimwit. \u00c2\u00a0Attempting to divert drainage from the house to the backyard, he used pvc pipe, buried it only a few inches down, and then just left it open at the end. \u00c2\u00a0The water was dumping from it and just saturating the ground, with nowhere for the excess water to go. \u00c2\u00a0Randy, with some of the kids help, got it all fixed up so it drains downhill and into a gravel area (with a special drain thingy on the end). \u00c2\u00a0Voila. \u00c2\u00a0One honey-do DONE.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m in purge mode. \u00c2\u00a0If it&#8217;s not nailed down and we&#8217;ve not used, worn, or played-with it in a while, it&#8217;s GONE. \u00c2\u00a0Another criteria for my purge-fest&#8230;do I love it? \u00c2\u00a0I hate clutter, having too much stuff around stresses me out. \u00c2\u00a0Proof of this? \u00c2\u00a0When I AM stressed, the first thing I do is straighten up, organize something, or re-arrange something. \u00c2\u00a0Hey, it helps! \u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;ve been taking gobs of stuff to charity drop-offs, kids consignment stores, and this weekend I&#8217;m taking a bunch of my &#8220;done with&#8221; clothing, bags, and jewelry to a women&#8217;s consignment event. \u00c2\u00a0Yay for paring down and simplifying!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been cooking a lot lately. \u00c2\u00a0Two of our favorites lately were Sweet Baby Rays crockpot bbq and cheesy potato soup. \u00c2\u00a0Both were YUM and I&#8217;ve been told to make them again. \u00c2\u00a0And, a lot. \u00c2\u00a0No problem, they&#8217;re both really good and very economical.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m hoping to blog more often, I know I&#8217;ve been very lax about keeping up with it. \u00c2\u00a0I think I&#8217;m just taking less pictures, which I have no good excuse for. \u00c2\u00a0Gotta work on getting the pics off my camera, onto the computer, and then on the blog. \u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;ll do better.<\/p>\n<p>Well, It&#8217;s Sunday night, and I think I&#8217;ll go sit and watch TV with the family for a bit. \u00c2\u00a0Before Monday shows up and the real-life of school, activities, and errands commences.<\/p>\n<p>Night :)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gasp.
