\u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s been four weeks, and we were all very ready.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2774\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5752827041\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2673\/5752827041_4225980599.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2774\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This wasn&#8217;t Dylan&#8217;s first time at the rodeo&#8230;.he remembered that the cast-cutter tickles.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2775\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5753373398\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2008\/5753373398_0065dcff11.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2775\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He giggled the whole time.<\/p>\n<p>The cutter isn&#8217;t actually cutting, per say. \u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s a pretty dull semi-circle blade that vibrates at a high speed. \u00c2\u00a0So, there&#8217;s no way to actually cut the skin underneath. \u00c2\u00a0But, it LOOKS like it is!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2778\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5752831599\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2168\/5752831599_043fc762dc.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2778\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All the cutting is done, so time for the clamp to open it&#8230;she let Dylan help out with this part.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2779\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5753377746\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5027\/5753377746_61493f194f.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2779\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They cracked it open like a walnut and, voila&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2782\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5753379044\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5026\/5753379044_557d8272dd.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2782\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the cast was removed, we all looked at it and commented on how good it looked. \u00c2\u00a0Dylan was quiet, just looking. \u00c2\u00a0No mention of anything missing&#8230;we wondered what his reaction would be. \u00c2\u00a0Then, the nurse began to wash his leg with a soapy rag and she must have bumped the stitches. \u00c2\u00a0He got really upset and cried. \u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;m sure they are tender, and he was hesitant to have us touch them again.<\/p>\n<p>They told us that there are stitches on the inside that will dissolve. \u00c2\u00a0The ones on the outside will fall off, she said in around a week. \u00c2\u00a0There is also quite a bit of scabbing. \u00c2\u00a0It strikes me that the scar looks like a smile. \u00c2\u00a0(especially with those 2 spots that came off in the shower tonight!)<\/p>\n<p>He can have baths, as long as he doesn&#8217;t soak too long. \u00c2\u00a0They want him to hold off on swimming until the outside stitches fall off.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2791\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5752835529\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2022\/5752835529_3ceebc605f.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2791\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After we talked to the physician assistant for a while, we were sent to the braces room for his pressure sock. \u00c2\u00a0He got nervous when we went in the room, knowing the sock would have to touch his leg. \u00c2\u00a0The tech was as nice as can be, and said that momma could do it. \u00c2\u00a0Dylan decided daddy was the better choice.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2796\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5753383374\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2062\/5753383374_1de3bbd0e3.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2796\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The sock is more like a pair of pants. \u00c2\u00a0A hole for his long leg to fit through, and a closed-end sock on the other. \u00c2\u00a0Then, the waist band goes up like pants. \u00c2\u00a0It fit well, and even looks comfy to me. \u00c2\u00a0They gave us 6 and we&#8217;re to wash\/dry them with our other laundry. \u00c2\u00a0 He fussed while it was put on, but then was fine. \u00c2\u00a0The thought of it touching was worse than the actual touch.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2797\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5752839739\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2797\/5752839739_199e0ddd8d.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2797\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the way out, we made our next appt for June 6th. \u00c2\u00a0He&#8217;ll have the mold taken for his new leg that day!
