{"id":1654,"date":"2011-05-01T22:16:38","date_gmt":"2011-05-02T02:16:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=1654"},"modified":"2011-05-01T22:16:38","modified_gmt":"2011-05-02T02:16:38","slug":"keeping-the-boy-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/1654","title":{"rendered":"keeping the boy down&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The docs at Shriners told us to TRY and keep Dylan from putting much weight on the end of his short leg.<\/p>\n<p>I just can&#8217;t call it a stump, I know it&#8217;s perfectly acceptable to call it that, I&#8217;m just not there yet&#8230;.I guess we should come up with a cute \u00c2\u00a0name for it. \u00c2\u00a0Our friend&#8217;s daughter calls hers &#8220;Nemo&#8221;. \u00c2\u00a0Get it? \u00c2\u00a0He had a short fin. \u00c2\u00a0Anyway&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Dylan isn&#8217;t exactly &#8220;walking&#8221; on it yet, other than when he walks up \/ down stairs. \u00c2\u00a0When scooting on the floor, he kinda drags it behind him. \u00c2\u00a0Truthfully, he acts like it&#8217;s not there&#8230;he&#8217;s just as fast as he was before the cast.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I noticed that he camo print in one spot on the end looks like it&#8217;s fading. \u00c2\u00a0I assume that&#8217;s because it&#8217;s getting rubbed off by the friction of it against carpet, etc. \u00c2\u00a0So, we came up with a solution.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2562\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5677865457\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5142\/5677865457_4ab815c2b0.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2562\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_2564\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5677867197\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5228\/5677867197_2c8fee8cac.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_2564\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tube sock to the rescue. \u00c2\u00a0Wonder how many of those we&#8217;ll go through, trying to save the cast?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The docs at Shriners told us to TRY and keep Dylan from putting much weight on the end of his short leg.
