{"id":1564,"date":"2011-02-26T13:41:13","date_gmt":"2011-02-26T18:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handsful.com\/?p=1564"},"modified":"2011-02-26T13:41:13","modified_gmt":"2011-02-26T18:41:13","slug":"one-surgery-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.handsful.com\/wordpress\/archives\/1564","title":{"rendered":"One surgery down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"Lainey surgery 1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5479034925\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5211\/5479034925_055490632d.jpg\" alt=\"Lainey surgery 1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the way out the door, headed to the hospital. \u00c2\u00a0She&#8217;s all smiles, but said she was a little nervous.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"Lainey surgery 2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5479034961\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5136\/5479034961_18485c445a.jpg\" alt=\"Lainey surgery 2\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>all gowned up. \u00c2\u00a0Next, the woozy-inducing &#8220;pink medicine&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"Lainey surgery 3\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5479035181\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5295\/5479035181_5d8902c5fb.jpg\" alt=\"Lainey surgery 3\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Checking out her arm tag. \u00c2\u00a0I won&#8217;t post any pictures (or the video!) of her drug-induced state&#8230;suffice it to say that it made her very dizzy and VERY silly. \u00c2\u00a0She said daddy had 3 eyes and mama had 2 mouths!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"Lainey surgery 4\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5479035211\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5295\/5479035211_96178426d5.jpg\" alt=\"Lainey surgery 4\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One hour later, and the surgery was over. \u00c2\u00a0We were thrilled to hear that they were able to do the preferred procedure (sphincter pharyngoplasty) and it went off without any issues. \u00c2\u00a0Yea!! \u00c2\u00a0Here, she&#8217;s still quite out of it but waking up more and more. \u00c2\u00a0She didn&#8217;t like me taking pictures!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"Lainey surgery 5\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5479035231\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5175\/5479035231_c30f8b6d9a.jpg\" alt=\"Lainey surgery 5\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, I grabbed the camera when she was sleeping :)<\/p>\n<p>Lainey had a few bites of pop-sicle and several sips of drinks. \u00c2\u00a0The surgeon wasn&#8217;t too concerned that she take in very much that first day, and she had an IV. \u00c2\u00a0She slept off and on most of the day. \u00c2\u00a0Daddy stayed with Lainey that night, and I drove home around 9pm to stay with the other kids. \u00c2\u00a0My mom was there, too, but I thought I had to take Abbey to her biology class in the morning. \u00c2\u00a0Turns out, \u00c2\u00a0my friend Sandi took care of that for me. \u00c2\u00a0:) \u00c2\u00a0So, I got up the next morning, took care of Dylan, and headed back to the hospital to see her.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"Lainey surgery 6\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/70803758@N00\/5479035355\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5140\/5479035355_29b5db8eea.jpg\" alt=\"Lainey surgery 6\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And, Lainey was back! \u00c2\u00a0No more grumpiness, in hardly any pain at all, and wanting to be up and about. \u00c2\u00a0She was collecting quite a few stuffed animals at this point.
