Marley, Payton, and Ethan…my preemie triplets who each weighed in around 3 1\/2lbs…are now 12 years old.\u00c2\u00a0 Officially pre-teens – 1 year till teenagers – 4 years from driving.\u00c2\u00a0 (yikes)<\/p>\n

Their birthday was actually fairly laid back…as pretty much all\u00c2\u00a0of our summer days have been.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0They slept in,\u00c2\u00a0and then requested cinnamon rolls for breakfast.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, I had none in the fridge and didn’t have all the ingredients for homemade.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I did have a roll of biscuit dough, so after some imagination on my part, I presented them with cinnamon rolls.\u00c2\u00a0 They were good, if I do say so.<\/p>\n

That night, they\u00c2\u00a0opened Abbey’s presents to them.<\/p>\n

always suspicious of his sister, he’s listening for ticking.\u00c2\u00a0 Or, breathing.\u00c2\u00a0 Turns out it was an Xbox game.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, Marley found just the comforter she’d been looking for, so that became her birthday present from us.\u00c2\u00a0 The boys were wishy-washy about what they wanted until it was too late.\u00c2\u00a0 We think we’ve hit on a couple of things, so we’ll do some internet surfing.<\/p>\n

Then, we headed out to dinner…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Yummy dinner, followed by the usual birthday ice cream.\u00c2\u00a0 This time, there were no birthday singers – we were fine with that!<\/p>\n

Now that they are 12, I decided to do a “who they are now” kind of post.\u00c2\u00a0 Listing things that really define them.\u00c2\u00a0 Afterall, I’m seeing glimpses of them as young adults these days (gulp), and I want to remember this season in their lives.<\/p>\n

Marley –<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Loves all things horses – dreams of owning her own horse farm with lots of other animals scattered about.<\/p>\n

Hates all things related to thunder storms.\u00c2\u00a0 And splinters.\u00c2\u00a0 And peanut butter.<\/p>\n

Loves to read – chapter books about animals are favorites.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Currently reading\u00c2\u00a0The Percy Jackson series.<\/p>\n

Prefers to wear double-layered tank tops and jeans.\u00c2\u00a0 Isn’t fond of anything remotely “cute”.<\/p>\n

She’s creative – loves to draw, color, cook, and write stories.<\/p>\n

Loves to make other people happy, but can still flash a mean temper.<\/p>\n

Payton –<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Loves his brother intensely…can be just as intensely mad at him, too.<\/p>\n

Hates injustice, soda, and wearing anything other than his favorite black shorts.<\/p>\n

Orders lemonade at every restaurant.\u00c2\u00a0 Everytime.<\/p>\n

Has a gift in drawing, especially cartooning.\u00c2\u00a0 Which fits his personality perfectly.<\/p>\n

Little kids are drawn to him, and he loves that.<\/p>\n

Prefers friends to call him “Tater”, and has a knack of making us laugh.<\/p>\n

Ethan –<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Hates reading, talking on the phone, and hearing his baby sister cry.<\/p>\n

Loves soda, sugary cereal, and junk food.\u00c2\u00a0 Too much.<\/p>\n

Has decided that baseball is not his thing.<\/p>\n

Has decided that guitar is his thing, and he does it very well.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 That and video games.<\/p>\n

Always has arms full of silly bands and a rope anklet on his ankle.<\/p>\n

Is a bit of a daredevil and loves a thrill.\u00c2\u00a0 Skateboarding, wakeboarding, skiing, roller-coasters…you name it.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t be prouder of my triplets…who they are now, and who they are becoming.\u00c2\u00a0 Happy 12th M, P, and E!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
